It was fitting that Annie ended up working at the Talent Group. She was such an immensely talented woman whose experience and achievements spanned two distinct worlds: advertising and TV production. She looked after me as a new WACCLer and she did so much for the club, though never wanted the limelight for herself. We used to have great fun talking about the space between brands and telly and whether we could join them up in any creative way. And I'll never forget her explanation of why she loved the world of animation: "The talent doesn't talk back, Tess." I didn't even realise Annie was so ill, which is absolutely typical. She wasn't one to make a fuss or to grab attention. What a terrible loss, but what happy memories of this brave, clever, loyal and lovely woman.
